H. E. Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche is a Master of Meditation and was born in the foothills of the Himalaya Mountains. He was recognized as a holy child and began training as a lama from the age of four. Rinpoche attended the Buddhist university in Sarnath, India and later received teachings, empowerments and transmissions from many of the greatest Tibetan Buddhist Masters of his time. Rinpoche is a lineage holder of Dzogchen (The Great Perfection).
External manifestations are not necessarily coming into your true self. Whatever is reflecting in the mirror is not coming inside the mirror at all. This potential is shining, potential is reflecting, potential is appearing. (Play video to hear full teaching.)
Rinpoche explains four important topics for new students. (Play video to hear full teaching.)
When there is dualistic conception then there is a good and bad. When does this dualistic conception start? It starts when you are ignorant of unconditional nature. (Play video to hear full teaching.)
There is a big difference between the Buddhist and Hindu philosophies. In Buddhism there is Sunyata which is to indicate that there is no self. In Hinduism there is Atma which is continuation of self. (Play video to hear full teaching.)
The essence of our being is unconditional, meaning it is not created by anything, or anybody. The essence of our being is unceasing and does not settle in any conditional form. (Play video to hear full teaching.).
If you are complete in this very moment, there is nothing more important than being in it, completely integrated in this essence. That is being. That being does not have self as such, individuality, as such. That energy is independent, natural as it arises. That is the ultimate respect.

If you do not relate singularly to each and every energy as it arises, you stack up one energy after energy. Then you are in a chaotic situation that possibly was created by yourself. (Play video to hear full teaching.)
Rinpoche explains the difference between Theravada,
Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions. (Play video to

In lineage, you have to think about the person as secondary. Real lineage is the continuity of this unobstructed energy. That is the lineage. The continuity of unobstructed energy that is actualized by enlightened ones. Which means, it's potential is realized. Whoever realized its potential, he or she lived his life and her life fully. So, like your own teacher, who is connected to the lineage, means your teacher received blessings and empowerment from the lineage, where upon the teacher is able to tap into that unobstructed energy. Therefore, if you are able to connect to your teacher and the lineage, you have potential, you have possibility to tap into that energy and that blessing. So that is the lineage. Therefore when you are connected to the teacher and the lineage, the ancient lineage, you have so much possibility to realize the essence of wisdom and teaching.
Moment you condition that energy it becomes solid. Therefore, it becomes fear because you have somebody who is going to experience the fear. So there is a sense of 'I' that there is a sense of fear. So 'I' am fearful. So that 'I' is also conditioned. Fear is also conditioned. So you are not able to experience the unobstructed flow of energy. Instead of having experienced the unobstructed flow of energy, when we condition that energy and we are not self-aware (meaning we are not able to actualize the quality of our being) so that's why... One thing that is very important for us to remember is this very moment. In this very moment, whatever thoughts, whatever feelings, whatever is happening in this very moment naturally, if you are free from ... (Play video to hear full teaching.)
There is possibility for us to have natural ability to handle everything. Natural ability to handle everything because the energy is resourceful enough, such a resourceful enough, in a way that there's nothing that you really need to manufacture or you don't need to create anything within this energy. Everything seems to be... (Play video to hear full teaching.)
The heart of the spiritual practice is intimately connected with conviction in our limitless potential as human beings. This is very important. There is a concept with us being a ‘sinner’ and something that you have to purify to reach the heaven, as such. Maybe there is another way to look at it; that you ... At the beginning, whatever is most comfortable for you, you have to follow that way. You have to make sure you're very practical so that you will not get tired. Sometimes you will have a long way to go and you will really have energy to maintain stability and to understand it. When you talk about religion, you know most of the religion that we have in the world today are created by...(Play video to hear full teaching.)
If we are really honest with ourselves we have really nothing other than this now. Nowness. Unless we are able to integrate into nowness, whoever we think we are is creating consequences for us to experience later. When we are able to relate to the nowness, actually, we have everything in the world. The whole world is ... (Play video to hear full teaching.)
In Zen tradition they call it "first thought is the best thought". Whatever is arising in the form of energy is valid. As it is, is valid. Instead of being able to integrate into everything arising as it is, in that natural way, we tend to find dissatisfaction, problems, difficulties. We feel there is always something wrong, something incomplete. We go outside to find everything to be validated. We are chasing after.. (Play video to hear full teaching.)
When you talk about the territorial self, whenever there is a sense of conditional self, there is territory that you feel you have to protect. So that is conditioning. Whenever you have this sense of needing to protect self - is conditioning. Which means that as the energy is unceasingly flowing you try to make something out of the energy by conditioning it. In other words ...

Since birth and the influence of everyone surrounding us and our environment, somehow we’ve never been able to be independent…without imitating or being influenced since a very young age. However, our mind has the ability to be truly independent. The mind has the ability to reflect everything in it and, at the same time, the mind has the ability not to necessarily condition anything that is reflecting in the mind. There is a power in the mind… (Play video to hear full teaching.)
Being able to let everything be natural is the hardest thing so if you are being very natural than I don’t think it should trigger any emotions at all. Even if some emotion is triggered, it should not affect you or anybody else. So, being able to just let your experience and your instinct become natural is the most beneficial. Even if you are on the journey to enlightenment, until you reach enlightenment, of course there will be so many obstacles and so many ups and downs. None of these things are…

Source is hard to pin point. If there is a source that we can pin point, then whatever we will pin point - that will be limited. There seems unlimited energy flowing so, we definitely can't pin point. Source, therefore, is unbiased. Natural way is the source and from that natural way energy flows. Energy is also unbiased and not discriminated, natural flow of energy. If you want to free yourself completely...

The most important thing is how you look at everyone. If you look at them as just people, that is one thing. If you look at everyone as people with essence, that’s another thing. If you look at everyone as people with unconditional heart that’s another thing. I feel that everything is our projection. There’s nothing out there that is ever going to affect us if we... Because we are not able to see things clearly, we tend to attach to things and we tend to create suffering for ourselves. This does not exist outside, but we project our mental incapacity and then it appears as if there is some truth outside. Which is relative truth. That is the way we are right now because we see things and we feel that it is real. It exists. Once we feel it exists, we...

When we see things how they are, there is no fabrication. Conceptualizing is a fabrication. You conceptualize according to your habit - your past knowledge. You conceptualize with some agenda. You conceptualize by solidifying. When you solidify, that is not natural and when you are not natural, you are not able to relate to everything as it is. When you are... Rinpoche explains that to actualize spontaneous instinctive emotion requires courage, courageous intelligence. To be able to embrace emotional intelligence we have to embrace ourselves as a perfect being. If we see the glass half empty, we are not able to truly see the perfection in our being. Knowing our mind is only possible if we are able to free ourselves from living in the past and from living in the future and being able to embrace this moment fully… (Play video to hear full teaching.)
In this teaching, Rinpoche explains that this very moment is the most valid. There is nothing more valid than this moment. If you agree, then your mind is the very moment. Whatever you are experiencing in this very moment is the experience of your mind. This very moment is the most valid expression of your mind. Therefore, you find mind ...

Rinpoche explains that surrender is difficult for everyone as long as there is an egocentric self and selfishness; or when we identify ourself as something solid, concrete, conditional and 'as good as' anyone else or want to be 'better than' anyone else. If you understand and are aware that there is a natural flow of energy that unobstructedly arises and unobstructedly manifests - there is no connection to each other unless... Rinpoche explains that we have been trained to be observers when we meditate. That helps you to stabilize concentration and have less distraction, but sooner or later you have to find out: Who is the observer? Does this observer truly exist or is it just a concept, a habit? At the end of the day, the observer, the egocentric self will still...

Rinpoche explains the way to experience the True Self. Whenever IT is flowing or manifesting and IT is uncorrupted and unfabricated and as natural as it is; that energy is independent and fresh. That energy is complete. In this moment when there is that awareness only of the energy then we are...
